Symphony OrchestraMembership is comprised of advanced string, wind and percussion students who are selected through an audition process. The Symphony Orchestra provides a sound foundation for students to work within a full orchestra under the direction of a professional conductor. Led by Ian Schwindt, students rehearse 2¼ hours weekly and present three concerts per season.
The repertoire for this orchestra is from the standard symphonic literature. Works performed last season included Music For the Royal Fireworks by Handel/Isaac, Suite for Strings by Holberg, Folk Tune Air and Fiddler’s Fury by Stewart, Symphony No. 1 by Beethoven/Isaac, Toccatina for Orchestra by Whear, Russian Sailor’s Dance by Glière/Isaac.
