5th Annual Concerto Winners Concert

5th Annual Concerto Winners Concert was a GREAT success. Congratulations once again to all three winners, David Sotelo, Esha Bansal, Michelangelo Romano, Philharmonic Orchestra, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, String Quartet and Clarinet Trio.

We encourage you to bring a musician friend to rehearsal. If your friend auditions and becomes a BSYO member (with paid tuition for at least the first semester) you will receive a 20% discount on your tuition for EACH friend that joins. (i.e. if 3 friends join you receive a 60% discount on tuition.)
In addition to the tuition discount you will also receive a ticket to the year- end concert and $5.00 off your audition fee. Your friend(s) will also receive a ticket to the year-end concert. If your friend chooses to stay for the remainder of this season the tuition will be $50.

Requirements:
Students will submit an essay not to exceed 20 pages typed, single space, 12-point font with normal margins. The essay should explain when, why and how they started their musical community service activities. The essay should include examples of how their community service in music has made a difference in the lives of others.
Students will submit the CFE certification form to document the community service including contact information of the director and organization involved. Students will submit a letter of recommendation from a director or administrator of the organization served.
Application Deadlines
Students should submit all documents no later than April 11th, 2011 to the BSYO office. Documents may be submitted in hard copy or e-mailed to Lourdes@BSYO.us. The award will be presented at the final concert on May 15, 2011.

The BSYO is seeking music-related artwork to become the cover of our 2011-2012 season program. This program will be distributed at our concerts to audiences of 2,500+ people. The winning artwork also will be reproduced for other BSYO materials such as posters, brochures and compact disc covers.

The deadline to submit info for “Senior Spotlight” is Monday, April 25. Please click below for the form. This will ensure that your senior is recognized in the final program.

The BSYO will receive 19% of all proceeds for student financial aid scholarships.

The final concert
is on Sunday, May 15th at 3:30 PM at the Cocoa Beach Performing Arts Center, 1500 Minutemen Causeway, Cocoa Beach. In addition to being included in “Senior Spotlight”, seniors will be recognized on stage after the performance. Be sure to invite your family, friends and neighbors to honor their outstanding commitment to the BSYO!

Attendance Policy Reminder
Students should arrive at rehearsals at least 10 minutes prior to a rehearsal and be tuned and ready to play on time. You are late if you are not in your seat, tuned and ready to play, when the rehearsal begins. Three late arrivals/early departures equal one absence.
All absences, early departures or late arrivals should be reported to your orchestra manager and conductor in advance of the rehearsal.
Students, please sign in to rehearsal to avoid being marked absent!
