Volunteers are needed for the following events:

Bikers and Bach Poker Run -  Come join the fun during our first annual Poker Run. We will need two volunteers at each stop to help with the cards handed out. Hours needed covered are 9:30am - 3:00pm (the hours can be split into shifts if needed.) The deadline to submit info for “Senior Spotlight” is Monday, May 2nd . (The deadline has been extended).  There will be no more extensions program insert MUST go to print no later than May 3^rd.  Please click below for the form.  This will ensure that your senior is recognized in the final program.

Requirements:

Students will submit an essay not to exceed 20 pages typed, single space, 12-point font with normal margins.  The essay should explain when, why and how they started their musical community service activities.  The essay should include examples of how their community service in music has made a difference in the lives of others.

Students will submit the CFE certification form to document the community service including contact information of the director and organization involved.  Students will submit a letter of recommendation from a director or administrator of the organization served.

Application Deadlines
Students should submit all documents no later than May 2nd, 2011 to the BSYO office ( The deadline has been extended).  Documents may be submitted in hard copy or e-mailed to Lourdes@BSYO.us.  The award will be presented at the final concert on May 15, 2011.

The BSYO is seeking music-related artwork to become the cover of our 2011-2012 season program. This program will be distributed at our concerts to audiences of 2,500+ people. The winning artwork also will be reproduced for other BSYO materials such as posters, brochures and compact disc covers.

The BSYO will receive 19% of all proceeds for student financial aid scholarships.

Attendance Policy Reminder

Students should arrive at rehearsals at least 10 minutes prior to a rehearsal and be tuned and ready to play on time. You are late if you are not in your seat, tuned and ready to play, when the rehearsal begins. Three late arrivals/early departures equal one absence. 
All absences, early departures or late arrivals should be reported to your orchestra manager and conductor in advance of the rehearsal.
